A Faith left Behind...

When I became a new creation in Christ I left a whole life behind, a whole person.  I think that person is the hardest friend to stop talking to and interacting with.  The foundation of my faith is Christ, and there is no deviation in this fact for any person who considers them self a Christian.  "For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11.  One thing I often think about is the faith I based my old life upon.  "Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" Hebrews 11:1.  I think that often before being reborn in Christ, and sometimes after, we have a very diluted understanding of faith, that faith is hoping that what we want to happen, happens.  This is the "faith" I constantly relied upon.  As anyone who knows me or Christ understands that this concept is completely proven to fail time and again.  Personally, I thank God daily that i was able to leave this "faith" behind, and when it comes down to it, every person has or had this "faith" and also understands that it falls short.  Fact is Christ doesn't fall short and never will.  The person who I was talking about earlier is dead, I am alive, the man who has favor in Gods sight, who hungers and thirsts for righteousness, and desires to serve and please God.  My Faith is that of God, the author of our faith and creator of this universe.  This is the Faith that satisfies.

Hello World!

This is my blog, so this is my introduction...

Hi, my name is nick. In the last year and a half i have changed a lot. Many people know this and some dont. Currently I still only talk to one friend that i had two years ago, and I am glad he has been here to witness something beyond ourselves. You see there is no way to say this but bluntly, mostly because of how blunt the whole thing is itself, I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Heres the deal..."the Lords hand is not shortened that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy that he cannot hear you. But your iniquities have separated you from God..." Isaiah 59:1-2 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 " for He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" 2 Corinthians 5:21 " for this is My (Jesus) blood of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins" Matthew 26:28 " for it is by grace you have been saved, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast" Ephesians 2:8-9. So to be honest i cant really explain it any better, i dont think anyone can.
When you read this you might have different feelings but just know that this is the reason that Christians, or Christ Followers love this Mighty God, why we might stress less or even appear truly happy. There is no explaining or taking credit for this, and no, this is not just externalizing, this is real, this is in front of everyone and for much of my adult life i just ran from it. The Lord has drawn me to repentance and i am so thankful.  the reason for this particular introduction is so any of my old friends know what I have been up to and it can explain some things they may want to know.
So this is my blog and i made this intro long and informative since it is prolly the last one anyone will ever read from me ;) except Allison and KC.
